The reserves have been estimated by volumetric method. The volume is arrived by multiplying the strike length of the deposit with width and depth of the deposit. To arrive the tonnage the volume is again multiplied by the tonnage factor of 2.0 t/Cum. This 2.0 t/Cum is considered based on the past experience gained in this mine.
As experienced in the mining, the clay bed excavated by open cast method. Already said above the total strike length of the ore body is 900m. and average width of the deposit is 400m. In past mining the maximum thickness of the mineral deposit proved 4.0m below the marram soil. Therefore up to 4m depth considered for estimation of proved reserves. Further depth of 4m each is considered for estimation of probable and possible reserves category.
